From August 20 to 23, 2024, the 40th anniversary international scientific conference «Siberian Thermophysical Seminar» (STS-40) was held in Novosibirsk. It was organized by the S.S. Kutateladze Institute of Thermophysics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The event was attended by over 300 scientists and young specialists from various research institutes and universities, as well as representatives of international research organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference was timed to coincide with important events: the 110th anniversary of the birth of Academician S.S. Kutateladze, founder of the Institute of Thermophysics and one of the leading scientists in the field of thermal physics and heat and mass transfer, as well as the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Conference participants noted that Kutateladze’s research laid a solid foundation for the study of fundamental heat and mass transfer processes, and his contributions inspire new generations of scientists to make important discoveries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Section 1: «Hydrodynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer, and Wave Processes in Multiphase Media»
Section 2: «Heat and Mass Transfer during Phase Transitions»
Section 3: «Convective Flows in Single-Phase Media»
Section 4: «Turbulence Control Methods and Heat and Mass Transfer Enhancement»
Section 5: «Transfer Processes during Physicochemical Transformations, Including Combustion»
Section 6: «Processes in Rarefied Gases and Plasma»
Section 7: «Thermophysics of Micro- and Nanosystems»
Section 8: «Thermophysical Properties of Substances and Radiant Heat Transfer»
Section 9: «Thermophysical Problems of Energy, Energy Efficiency, and Energy Saving»
Section 10: «Heat and Mass Transfer in Technological Processes, Solving Environmental Problems,
Low-Carbon Energy»
Section No. 11: «Applied Machine Learning in Thermal Physics and Power Engineering»
Section No. 12: «Materials Science in Thermal Physics and Power Engineering»
The conference also included a roundtable discussion on «Multiphase Precision Technologies<\/em><\/strong>» and a
special session dedicated to the anniversary of V.I. Terekhov<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
