From November 11 to 14, 2024, the 12th All-Russian Conference with International Participation, “Fuel Combustion: Theory, Experiments, and Applications,” was held in Novosibirsk. The event was organized by the S.S. Kutateladze Institute of Thermophysics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk National Research State University, and several relevant scientific and industry organizations.
The conference focused on current fundamental and applied research in the field of combustion processes of various fuels and their application in modern and advanced energy and engine technologies. The scientific topics covered a wide range of areas, including combustion theory and numerical modeling, heat and mass transfer, kinetics and catalysis, combustion in gas-liquid environments, detonation, thermoacoustic instability, environmental issues of fuel combustion, and the development of new-generation engines.
The conference’s history dates back to the 1970s and is associated with the work of outstanding Russian scientists who laid the foundations for modern combustion science. In recent decades, the conference has been held regularly every three years and remains a unique scientific platform in Russia, bringing together leading experts in the fields of energy, chemistry, and reaction mechanics.
The 12th conference brought together scientists and specialists from research organizations, universities, and energy sector companies from various regions of the Russian Federation, as well as international participants. The program included plenary presentations, oral and poster presentations, and demonstrations of scientific and technical developments. The conference was held in person with the option of online participation.
The event was held at the Akadempark Shared Use Center in Akademgorodok, Novosibirsk—one of the largest scientific centers in Siberia, located in a picturesque area on the shores of the Ob Sea.
