A database of experimental data on the effectiveness of a gas-droplet swirling curtain in a cylindrical channel
- The study area is a cylindrical channel with a diameter of 100 mm and a length of 1200 mm. A 5 mm-high annular nozzle is located at the inlet of the working section. The air curtain is swirled before entering the channel using spiral fins with axial angles of 0°, 45°, and 75°. Fluid is mixed in at the nozzle outlet through special grooves deep into the wall.
- In the experiments, the main flow can be heated to ~150°C, achieving flow velocities of ~15-20 m/s. An important parameter for surface cooling is its m value, which in the experiments was 0.25; 0.5; 1, and 2. The study area was the addition of fluid to the swirling wall curtain. The concentration could vary from 1 to 10% by weight of the wall jet flow rate. Flow rates from 0.2 to 22 m/s were measured.
